Tim Steinberg
Tim Steinberg hails from Albuquerque, New Mexico. Growing up outdoors
led to a life long love of outdoor photography that he has pursued
all over the world. Tim has shot for major publications, including
The National Geographic, extensive still photography for the Billy
Graham Crusade and has assembled a noteworthy archive of travel
and tour photography for The Carlson Companies.
Tim spent several years shooting sports before returning to his
main interest of shooting water, sky, mountains, and beautiful landscapes.
Tim likes the vistas, the panoramic captures of majestic peaks and
often romantic expanses of water, dense introspection of fog and
coastlines.
He is a traveler who, like Bob Hope once remarked, has been everywhere,
twice. Tim seeks the angle not always obvious until you study an
image and realize the perspective was truly inspired to capture
the ineluctable elements of a scene. His philosophy is to get inside
the shot, always searching for the right combination of light, timing,
composition, and sometimes nerve to get the right shot. Tims
images are often saturated with color not enhanced on a computer,
but as it was, by being patient and having a deep respect for letting
Nature set the shot.
In nearly 25 years of professional practice that encompasses product
shots, portraits, nature, landscape, seascape and sports, Tim finds
the unique story that sets his images apart from the ordinary. He
trained at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and, undaunted
by Minnesota winter has continued north to Alaska to lead photoexplorations.
In Alaska he has found the perfect environment for his skills. When
winter becomes too much, he heads for his other home, Hawaii to
shoot the tropical color of sea, flora, fauna and sky not found
anywhere else.
